1 · The fountain

304 stainless steel, with a tray that lifts off

The drinking tray and water bowl are 304 (18/8) stainless steel, the grade most used for kitchen sinks and saucepans. It's smooth and easy to rinse. The pump, filter holder and small fittings are plastic.

The tray lifts off and is dishwasher-safe. Unplug the fountain and take out the pump and filters before you clean it.

The bowl holds 3.2 L (108 oz), so you refill less often, and a lit window shows the water level at a glance. Refresh the water every few days and clean the fountain regularly.

2 · Filtering

Two filters, each with its own job

Filter pad: a 76.5 × 42.5 mm pad sits in the filter holder and catches hair and debris as the water circulates.

Foam ring: fits around the pump intake to help catch hair and larger debris before they reach the pump. Fountain makers say hair and debris can clog a pump and slow the flow.

Change the pad as directed (filter makers typically say every 2–4 weeks) and clean the pump regularly. Filters don't sterilize water or replace cleaning.

  3. Foam pre-filter ring Open-cell foam ring for the pump intake that stops larger debris.
  4. Stainless steel reservoir 3.2 L (108 oz) 304 stainless tank with a lit water-level window. Unplug before cleaning.

3 · Filters

A year's supply of filters in your first box

Annual Care ships 48 filter pads and 48 foam rings with your fountain. That's enough for a fresh pad every week. Filter makers typically suggest changing pads every 2–4 weeks, so you'll have plenty to spare.

There's nothing to reorder, and each yearly renewal ships a new supply of filters. Renewals don't include another fountain.

4 · Coverage

Replacement cover while you're a member

If your fountain develops a covered fault while you're an Annual Care member, email us. We'll troubleshoot it with you first, then send a replacement part or a replacement fountain (up to one fountain per 12 months).

A fountain bought on its own has a 30-day warranty. Damage from drops or misuse, running the pump dry, and normal wear of filters and foam rings aren't covered. Read the full terms.
